Professional Development Accommodations

  • SWWC is committed to ensuring that its communications with individuals with disabilities in its programs, services, and activities, are as effective as communications with individuals without disabilities, consistent with applicable legal requirements. To meet this obligation, SWWC will provide, free of charge, appropriate auxiliary aids and services whenever necessary, to ensure that individuals with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from its programs, services and activities. These procedures extend to applicants, participants, companions, and members of the public who seek to participate in or access SWWC’s programs, services, and activities.

Requests for auxiliary aids, closed captioning and other accommodations should be directed to:
    Deecy Jesse
1420 East College Drive, Marshall, MN 56258
    507-537-2250; deecy.jesse@swwc.org

Requests should be made by an individual with a disability who needs auxiliary aids, closed captioning, and services, or by someone acting on that individual’s behalf. Requests may be made either in writing or orally. Requests need to be made and received by Deecy at least two weeks in advance of the program, activity or service in question. SWWC will address all requests, but may not be able to arrange for the provision of an appropriate auxiliary aid, closed captioning or service if notice is not received two weeks in advance of the program, activity, or service. SWWC requires a notice of three business days to cancel an accommodation request. If an individual fails to give notice of cancellation three business days prior to the event, SWWC reserves the right to bill the individual’s school district/agency for this expense.

    Dietary Accommodations
Whenever a dietary accommodation request is made, SWWC makes every effort to accommodate the request. A dietary accommodation must be received before the registration deadline (indicated in the workshop information). A registrant will be required to share his dietary needs in the "Special Accommodations" section during online registration or email the workshop contact person as listed on the registration site.
