All nine Minnesota Service Cooperatives have collaborated as one regional partner. This allows Minnesota to send NINE Regional Bee Champions to the Scripps National Spelling Bee compared to the five in previous years. We are excited to give more students from Minnesota the opportunity to represent our state and compete with other kids around the United States.This Spelling Bee helps students build confidence, improve academic achievements, expands vocabulary, promotes literacy, improves comprehension, can develop good study skills and encourages students to work towards goals.The Spelling Bee is a series of spelling contests starting with your classroom, school building, then district level. The winner from the district will advance to the Regional Bee in Redwood Falls. One regional winner will then advance to the National Spelling Bee. It is an all-expenses paid trip for the winners (including one adult) to compete in the 2023-24 Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland.A special "Thank you" to those who helped make the Spelling Bee happen; the Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC SC), Minnesota Service Cooperatives, Lathrop GPM, Medica, Wex, Merriam-Webster, Encyclopedia Britannica.

The words that are provided by Scripps are used all around the country; therefore, we cannot give others an unfair advantage.
