STARRS Online Academy is an MDE-approved non-diploma program that expands educational opportunities for students. Students remain enrolled in their home district and take online courses to meet graduation requirements. Our courses are taught by Minnesota licensed teachers specializing in online teaching through the use of interactive and engaging course experiences ... and we have NCAA-approved core courses!
 
Students who benefit from STARRS Online Academy are:
  • struggling in school due to social reasons (i.e. bullying, anxiety, peer distraction, etc.)
  • have a complex home situation (i.e. multiple homes, family commitments/responsibilities, etc.)
  • dealing with a health concern that requires at home rest or frequent appointments
  • looking for an opportunity to work at a faster pace
  • behind in credits, but still want to graduate on time
  • looking for a flexible schedule due to demanding extracurricular activities or part-time jobs etc.
  • wanting to take a course(s) that isn’t offered through the district
  • needing a credit to graduate, but weren’t able to get into the in-person course
  • previously homeschooled or who want to start homeschooling, but want more structure, guidance, and to have the coursework provided.

How to Clear Cache on a Chromebook

Clear the cache and cookies on your Chromebook every so often to keep your computer running optimally and minimize user login issues.

  1. Open your Google Chrome internet browser.
  2. Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the screen, hover over "More Tools" and then select "Clear browsing data"
  3. Click "Clear data"

How to Clear Cache/Allow Cookies on a Chromebook

Clear the cache and allow all cookies on your Chromebook to keep your computer running optimally and minimize user login issues.

  1. Open your Google Chrome internet browser.
  2. Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the screen, hover over "More Tools" and then select "Clear browsing data"
  3. Uncheck Cookies and other site data, then click "Clear data".
  4. Scroll down and select Cookies and other site data. Click Allow all cookies. Settings save automatically.

K-5 iPad Settings & Voice Recording
In order to access our curriculum on an iPad, the iPad must be upgraded to iOS version 13.3 (or higher) of iOS. Additionally, the iPad settings must be set as follows:
  • Settings -> Safari -> Privacy & Security -> Block All Cookies MUST BE OFF
  • Settings -> Safari -> Privacy & Security -> Prevent Cross-Site Tracking MUST BE OFF

It is recommended that you use the Voice Memo app that is preinstalled on the iPad. If you’ve gotten the iPad from your school, you may not be able to download anything else. If you choose to download an app to record audio on iPads, please click this link first. Then click on the iPad tab. You may use this app to record audio.

The alternative is a website called Vocaroo.
