Technology Coordination

Since 2003, SWWC has been providing technology coordination services for our member school districts. Our approach allows your school district to be a part of SWWC's IT Department. Your district will have one of our Technology Coordinators assigned to you as your personal liaison between your school district and our staff. This service comes complete with the full wealth of knowledge, expertise and specialized skills necessary to administer the various components and services that make everything work in your district.

Contracts for Technology Coordination Services are flexible and allow for school districts of all sizes to contract at levels that make sense.

Regional Technology Leadership Workshops

SWWC's Technology Department offers five Technology Leadership Workshops per year with topics focusing on the latest trends and developments in Education Technology. Technology Coordinators and Technology Integrationists are encouraged to attend, with several of our workshops featuring session tracks specific to each group. Technology Leadership Workshops are open to anyone employed in school district technology support and are offered at reduced rates to technology service subscribers.

Private Cloud Hosting

SWWC members can take advantage of SWWC's over 40 years' experience in the operations of enterprise-scale data centers at affordable prices. Data center hosting is available to members of the SWWC Wide Area Network Consortium and other members that meet specific prerequisites required to participate in the service. Our private cloud data center model includes built-in disaster recovery replication. The included advanced backup solution includes replication to our backup data center facility and air-gapped offline backups for advanced ransomware protection. SWWC Cybersecurity services are also layered into all of our data center solutions, including 24/7 MDR protection and integration with SWWC Cybersecurity's SIEM and monitoring solutions.

Moodle Hosting

Moodle hosting is available to your school on a per-course or full district model. Under both models there are no restrictions to the number of students your course can have in each course. Hosted Moodle courses and Moodle Environments are intended for hybrid and blended course environments within your school district. Cross-district enrollment in an online course must be run through a MDE Approved Online School. If you are an online school looking for Moodle hosting, please contact Josh Sumption for details.

For Moodle Course Hosting, SWWC will provide your teacher access to their course. Enrollments of students can be handled through manual, template imports or student self-enrollment with a customized enrollment key. Each unique course setup will be billed out separately and can be used for the extent of the school year.

Moodle Course Hosting: $85 per course annually (courses limited to 10 GB)

For Moodle District Hosting customers, SWWC will provide you with a customized Moodle environment of your own, assist in integrating your Moodle environment with your Active Directory infrastructure and provide you with administrative access to your Moodle server. Your Moodle District Hosting service also includes Moodle 101 training for up to 20 teachers at your district. Mileage expenses incurred by SWWC traveling to the School to complete such training are included in the annual contract fee, but the School is responsible for other travel expenses that may be incurred. The School may purchase additional training at the School’s Technology Services rate.

Moodle District Hosting:
- $1,400 per district annually
- plus $1.05 per student
- Base package includes 100 GB, additional storage is $215 per 100 GB annually.

The SWWC Interactive Television (ITV) Program allows students to participate in academic areas that their school might not normally be able to offer through a synchronous, video-based format.
