Job Descriptions

SWWC has five different group classifications. The job description for each position lists its group classification.

Administrators includes all of our administrative staff.
Certified Staff Association (CSA) includes all of our licensed teachers and related service providers such as Special Education Teachers, Speech Language Pathologists, School Psychologists, Educational Consultants, Occupational Therapists, etc.
Direct Student Services (DSS) includes positions such as Special Education Paraprofessionals, Physical Therapy Assistants, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, LPH/Health Paras, etc.
Classified Employees Association (CEA) includes positions such as Administrative Assistants, Help Desk Operator, Accounting Technician, Student Activities Coordinator, etc.
Program Specialists (PS) include positions outside of the scope of our other group classifications or those that may require other certification areas outside of specific licensure with MDE. Some of these positions include Behavior Analyst, Business Services Specialist, Technology Coordinator, etc.

SWWC's Employee Manual contains our operating procedures and expectations and is a valuable communication resource for both the employer and the employee. It provides guidance and information related to the organization's history, mission, values, policies, procedures and benefits in a written format. It is also viewed as a means of protecting the employer against discrimination or unfair treatment claims.

Employee Recognition - GROW

The purpose of the GROW Award is to recognize employees for their outstanding work. Employees can be nominated by their coworkers, supervisors and our members.

Each month, one winner is selected to receive a $25 Rambow coupon. All nominees are entered into a random drawing to determine the winner.

Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) is a federal civil rights law which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Sexual harassment, which includes sexual assault and other sexual misconduct, is a form of sex discrimination. Under SWWC's Title IX Policy and Harassment and Violence Policy, SWWC prohibits sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, stalking and retaliation.

Nondiscrimination Notice: SWWC does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, immigration status, familial or marital status, status with regard to public assistance, and/or age in its educational programs and activities, and it is required by Title IX and 34 C.F.R. Part 106 not to discriminate in such a manner.

SWWC has appointed Director of Human Resources, Kari Bailey, as the Title IX Coordinator with overall responsibility for Title IX compliance. Questions regarding Title IX may be directed to Kari Bailey or the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education, or both.

SWWC has a Title IX policy 522 for students and staff, and a Harassment and Violence Policy 413 specifically for staff.

Any student, employee, or applicant for employment or admission to SWWC who believes that they have been discriminated against on the basis of sex, in violation of Title IX, or has been a victim of sexual assault, sexual harassment or other sexual misconduct, may file a complaint with the Title IX Coordinator, who will assist the complainant in identifying the appropriate SWWC policy to resolve the complaint in an equitable manner.

Filing a Complaint

If you have been subjected to sexual or gender-based harassment or misconduct in a school program or activity, you are strongly encouraged to report your experience to the Director of Human Resources and/or fill out a formal complaint form (available below). A report may be made at any time, although you are encouraged to make a report as soon as possible after an incident.
All reports are treated with the high level of seriousness and sensitivity they deserve. Retaliation against any person for making a report or participating in an investigation is strictly prohibited.
Title IX Coordinators are not a confidential source of support. While they address complaints with sensitivity and will not share any information except on a need-to-know basis and as required by federal law and regulations, absolute confidentiality is not possible.
SWWC will respond to all complaints of sexual or gender-based harassment or misconduct in a manner that is supportive and fair to all parties.
