From Legislation to Literacy: Bridging the Gap through Evidence-Based Practice

As we approach the 2026-27 READ Act implementation benchmarks, school leaders across the Southwest West Central region are moving beyond compliance toward deep instructional change. Join us for a powerful one-day symposium designed to showcase the innovative work being done by our own regional districts.

This event is specifically designed for Superintendents, Principals, District Literacy Leads, and Directors of Teaching & Learning. Rather than general theory, we will focus on the "how-to" of systemic change—showcasing real-world examples of professional development scaling, data-driven decision making, and the integration of MDE-approved instructional materials.

Key Highlights
  • Regional Showcase: Peer-led sessions from SWWC districts highlighting successes in literacy.
  • The Leadership Lab: Facilitated roundtable discussions for administrators focusing on the "nuts and bolts" of literacy leadership.
  • Resource Access: All attendees will receive the SWWC Literacy Leadership Toolkit, a digital repository of sample schedules, templates, and observation checklists.
