Accessibility Statement

We want everyone who visits the SWWC website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding. To help us make the SWWC website a positive and accessible online experience for all users, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the SWWC website.

• Consistent Layout and Simple Design: Most pages on the SWWC website use a consistent layout, making navigation more intuitive. The site is primarily text-based with a clean, straightforward design.
• Accessible Images: Images on the SWWC website include alternative text (alt text), which allows screen readers and other assistive technologies to convey visual information to users.
• Proper Use of Headings and HTML Markup: The website uses appropriate HTML markup to identify page elements such as headings and subheadings. This structure helps users of assistive technology understand how content is organized.
• Search Functionality: The website includes a search feature that provides relevant, easy-to-use results to help users quickly find information.
• Use of Tables: Tables are used only when necessary. When tables are included, they follow accessibility best practices by clearly identifying headers and associating data with the appropriate headings.
• Video Captions and Transcripts: Videos on the SWWC website include captions. When captions are embedded, they are enabled by default.
• Accessible Documents: Many documents on the SWWC website are provided in accessible PDF format and are compatible with screen readers and other accessibility tools. Viewing PDF files requires Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available free of charge from Adobe.
