Coding Requirements for PPE
I have received a few questions regarding how to code PPE that is purchased for the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Long-Term Facilities Maintenance Revenue - Guide for Allowable Expenditures from Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), the cost to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) for pandemic planning is allowable, for staff use only. These costs should be coded to FIN 347. This guide can be found on the very bottom of the MDE LTFM website.
It is very important to note that disinfectants and sanitizers are NOT allowable expenditures for LTFM funds.
