Questions and Answers about the rules
| Q Is the
"Rising Star" mentioned in the Non-Pro dancer category different
from the old Novice Invitational Rising Star?
A Yes, Rising Star now refers to the classification according to ACC rules. Basically, Non-Pro = our Rising Star from the 2003 contest. We have changed the name in order to fall in with ACC terminology. |
| Q Can the Am dancer
compete with the same Pro in both Mixed Pro-Am Division and the
Male/Female Pro-Am Strictly Swing? A Yes. However, in the Mixed Pro-Am Division, since the category is judged as a couple, the Pro may only dance with one student. This differs from the Pro-Am Strictly swing categories, where the student is the one being judged. |
| Q Can
I dance as an Am in the Male or Female Pro
Am Strictly Swing category if I've
won the Male or Female Pro
Am Traditional category in a previous
Novice Invitational. A Yes, for Novice 2004 Male or Female Strictly Swing contests only. However, the same is NOT true for the Mixed Pro Am Division. If you've won as an Am in ANY Novice Invitational Pro Am contest before, you are by rule ineligible for the Mixed Pro Am Division. |
